Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread

I have to admit that I'm biased against 'therapy' thing and used to share Marat's opinion that nobody can change for real, only pretend. I might be wrong and stupid about it, I know. Do I need some therapy myself ?

Mer, if Marat needs therapy, than all Marat fans (now everybody raise their hands ) need therapy

Maybe we will have discount for group therapy

People, I'm physiotherapist and now I'm doing a postgraduate course of physiotherapy in sports. One of my teachers is psychologist and he's working with the best sportsmen that are training in Spain. It's incredible what he can do to them. IMO, every professional sportman should have psychologist help.

Vasya, milyi, calm down. Peter works with Marat for only a year, and the results are good. They *are* good. He won a slam, remember? It was not so long ago. I know that as fans, we want Marat to do greater things, to do them *soon*, because, as Bea said, the train is running away, but Marat is what Marat is. These losses are gut-wrenching, yesterday I was like climbing up a wall from hopelessness, but Marat is what Marat is. He came to Peter as an adult man - his personality, views, mind, his game is finished, set. Peter's not going to re-shape him as he re-shaped Roger (and with Roger it took 7 years as it was). He's doing a good job, but we have to be realistic - he has limited options.

And all this talk about a psychologist is useless - it's never gonna happen.

but Bea don't you know that all of Marat's fans are brainless teenagers who don't know anything about tennis? I mean of all the fans on this board we are the only ones that have every had a derogatory team created just for us (safinsluts) so we obviously are only here for Marat's looks, right?

Sadly there are a few people that would probably agree with what i just wrote

Don't worry about not getting credit Bea, Safin fans rarely get credit for anything they say, unless it is about another player. People read our term 'oaf' and take it at face value. Most fail to realize that there is more to the term oaf then what there appears to be so we get scolded for not admitting that Marat did poorly.

Actually, That's my problem...everything can happen.

That's Marat...Spectacular win followed by bad losses...and a spectacular win again when nobody believes in him anymore.
You know that already that's the way he is and would you want him any other way? If people choose not to believe in him, then that's their choice, but you were there when he was out injured, so why not now?

When you like a player, you want him to win so badly...You wait...You hope...but the train is running away.

In his last itw he said that RG is his goal for the whole carreer...and I believe him because this tournament is very special for him...but I hope he knows what's he doing because he's not that young anymore...He can't win 6 5setters on clay.
Everyone has different expectations of people, but it's that player who has to live up to his own expectations and the best of his ability. He can play at RG and do well there, it's up to him as to how he achieves this.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I was in shitty mood yesterday because of his loss...I have the right to be sad or angry or hysterical if I want to (in Marat's forum).

Peter has nothing to do with it.
Of course he has nothing to do with it, but when I hear comments like what has Peter actually done for Marat then I can only shake my head, this is not directed at yourself.

Considering I used a smiley with my hysteria comment about Lundgren getting sacked that should have been clear as to my seriousness about this.

However I always give credit where it's due and if you think that is bad, at least it's not like some of the Federer fans who think it's his divine right to go through the season unbeaten and it's a crisis when he loses a match.

And no, I don't like it when people call him "Mr Excuse" now
That's David Nalbandian actually and yes I have said that to the Nalbandian fans and they know it.

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread

GUys please stop griping.

This argument has been going on since the beginning of like, time..Marat has always been and will always be bizarre.
Just enjoy him for his clever, entertaining soundbites, spasmodically brilliant tennis, outrageous on/off court antics and everything in between...

When he's being a dip-shit leave him be, this guy is priceless..you will miss him when he's gone.

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread

Good point Kiara, isn't Marat's personality a lot of reasons he has fans? He has his moments, but that's him, if he wins great, if not it's not the end of the world.

Re: Peter Lundgren glorification thread

I did see Peter in Marat's box during his match when I saw the news. Peter was there with Marat in Monte Carlo. Why do you guys think he'll sack Peter?
