^ Well, after a superb first set, that was a surprise, just not the one we were hoping for.

Re: Shanghai Surprise!

Marat should have listened to his own advice and shut up... *sigh* but he'll never learn

Well, he was too pissed at himself for falling for this, that's why he is blabbing to the press

He could stick to just blaming himself for losing concentration. It's was his own fault and it doesn't really matter if Berdych was faking or not.

I agree he shouldn't have let that affect him, but that's the way he his, he doesn't fake his feelings. If he's annoyed he let's you know it even if he himself would have benefited more from being quiet. That's a trait I admire

I'm not talking about feelings. I meant the intervew he gave after the match. It's a shame.

Would someone post the link to the interview? The google search above isn't working for me. Thanks!

I'm not saying he was right. Maybe Berdych was actually injured, but Marat felt he was faking and he said so. It would have been more clever/politically correct to shut up, shake hands with the guy and say nothing in public but I only meant that I like that trait in him that makes him speak his mind even if it makes him appear bad. He is honest even when he might be wrong.
Actually, seeing it from another angle, the fact that he still gets pissed at these little things proves (to me) that he still cares and wants to win, he's not just going through the motions.

Just my humble thoughts of course
