Re: Marat at Queen's/AEGON Championships

Well the one thing you could certainly never accuse Marat of is being a faker so I don't think he's faking or has a sudden allergy to grass. He might have pulled a muscle in training or something and doesn't want to risk being unfit for Wimbledon. That's just my view anyway

Re: Marat at Queen's/AEGON Championships

i didn't see the intvw, but, dinara had a bad cold during the final at RG, so, maybe she got him sick? But, I mean, there's video of him practicing on grass, so, not sure what he's doing... sorry ur day got ruined

I'm sure he be fine for wimbledon, and, at this point, the practice doesn't really seem help him much

I wasn't being at all serious! My previous comments should be taken with a big pinch of salt.

I didn't know about Dinara's cold, sounds like something's going around? Maybe Marat got up this morning, took one look at the weather and decided enough was enough. One never knows with him, but yeah, here's hoping we see him in finest fettle at Wimbledon.

Re: Marat at Queen's/AEGON Championships

Ah okay sorry This is my first time posting on the Marat forum and I just happened to come across it looking for info on Queens when I didn't see him on the OOP on the BBC so I don't know who or what to take seriously ... my apologies

Re: Marat at Queen's/AEGON Championships

No worries! Tho' there's always something a bit unsettling about a player suddenly withdrawing from a tournament, especially as maratsmaiden pointed out, Marat was happily cavorting on grass only recently.

I've no doubt his reason is legitimate, probably injury, or if not injury, then he's huddled in a blanket somewhere with a Lemsip watching Sally Jessy Raphael. For my own personal amusement, I don't like to rule out Marat's having acted on a whim either!

So long, Marat ... it's now Davai Andy!

You're a Murray fan too then? Or is that A-Rod we're talking about Well, none of us really know the reason behind Marat's withdrawal unfortunately but all we can do is hope he's taking care of himself and will be back soon for the sake of all his fans

Btw, just for info he does have some sort of hay fever/spring allergy. It's not the first time he appears congestioned or mentions allergies during the Spring/RG season. Anyway he has always played nevertheless so I'm inclined to think maybe he pulled a muscle or smth and has decided to take it easier. I suppose the last thing we would want now is to be forced to quit ahead of schedule because of injury. It would sound like some sad joke of fate

Re: Marat at Queen's/AEGON Championships

Hi Eimear, you're always welcome here.

On Eurosport the commentators said Marat had pulled out because of a back injury. They said he had practiced yesterday but obviously something happened to his back. Let's hope it's nothing too serious, and no allergy.
Get well soon, Marat!
And so much about the matches in this thread.

Hah hah!!! Very true Good win for Muzza today. I'm watching Gillou atm. I'm nervous about his knee although it seems to have loosened up since the start of the match
