Re: Dinara Part 2

The 2011 Kuala Lumpur doubles champs:

Dinara & Galina beat Lertcheewakarn/Moore 7-5 2-6 10-5.

This is Dinara's first doubles title since 2008 Indian Wells.
Some quotes from the WTA site:
Quote:
"It's definitely always nice to win a tournament," Safina said in her post-match presser. "I'm kind of on the way back because I was injured all last year. I'm trying to play as many matches as I can, singles and doubles. So I'm pretty happy with this week - it had been a long time since I last played doubles, too."

...

Asked about her goals moving forward, Safina said she hasn't set any. "I just want to go out there and enjoy each match. When you're injured it's hard to enjoy yourself; now I'm free of injuries I can do that. I have a smile again."

Re: Dinara Part 2

Indian Wells R1: beat Parra Santonja 6-3 6-3.
Indian Wells R2: beat Hantuchova 7-6(2) 6-4.

2 match winning streak!

Dinara said after the match that she seriously wanted to retire after AO, but her mother talked her out of it!
I hope the full transcript gets posted - this is interesting.

Re: Dinara Part 2

One of the funniest videos I've seen in a long, long time - apparently Dinara was on the Russian version of "wipe out"... Oh, how I wish her brother joined her in this little exercise...

Re: Dinara Part 2

^ OMG! I'd pay to see Marat do this!

Indian Wells R3: beat Stosur 7-6(2) 6-4!!!!
I watched this with my own 2 eyes - this really happened!

She was her usual self - crappy serve, some racquet throwing, positive and negative yelling, and absolutely crushing the ball at times. First win over a top 5 player since beating Venus in Madrid '09. Her ranking should go up to around #90 now. Sharapova next in R4.

She was smiling big after this win!

Funny tweet I saw during the TB:
Too cute.

Re: Dinara Part 2

Way to go, Dinara!

Regarding the competition video. It's the Russian competitive show "Cruel games", supposedly taped in Argentina last November.
Actually it's not that funny, because she hurt her back bad during the fall. Dinara was quite worried about it.
All in all, she said that one needs to try everything in life, so no regrets

Re: Dinara Part 2

More from twitter @TennisReporters FYI Safina says that Marat helped her change her service motion... Says he'll do anything 4 her

So that probably explains the DF's

sorry, I didn't know she really hurt herself here... I just got a kick out of watching her do these 'stunts'....

Re: Dinara Part 2

No worries, dear Just wanted to clarify the situation. Dinara was more worried about the hit on her back, than on her head.

Good luck, Dinara!

Re: Dinara Part 2

tough match/loss last night... it was hard to watch at times, had to change the channel. Maria is just in better form right now (obviously) and Dinara really, really needs to work on that serve. I hope she takes all of the positives away from this week and builds on them! Good luck in Miami, Dinara!

This is "Cruel Game " and is broadcast on national television every Sunday. I did not know that Dinara participate and even surprised that he agreed because it is very dangerous.
Marat before saying he did not want to participate in such competitions ,but now no longer play may have changed his opinion, who knows

Poor kid. Don't know if she'll ever be back at the level she was, but I really do hope she can recover from this terrible back injury that she has.
