"He's my big brother. Still today he is my idol."
Safina makes it clear for anyone still unsure that she is a fan of big brother Marat.

"I idolised Marat, too. I can totally understand."
Serena Williams reveals that Dinara was not alone in her admiration for Marat.

"I got my letter from Safin, the birthday card. It just said, 'Happy birthday and all the best.' But it's good enough for me."
Even 15-year-old Laura Robson is a member of the Marat fan club.

"He's not really the guy who has enough patience for this, you know, to have a woman's talk."
And Safina makes the shock revelation that Marat has not always been the most sensitive person in dealing with his younger sister.
we have big Marat fan club

Q. Dinara spoke about idolizing Marat when she grew up. You and Venus were so close in age...

SERENA WILLIAMS: I idolized Marat, too (smiling). I can totally understand.

Re: Dinara!

Poor Dinara ... she just could not get into the match ... it was all over before you could say "Krajan looks lovely in Yellow!" ... must've been hard to have all those eyes on you and be unable to get anything working for you, but good on her for hanging in there and trying her best

loved her comment 'I was just a ballboy out there today'

go and work on that serve girl and the next GS is yours

Re: Dinara!

It was a little painful to watch (I didn't even watch the ceremony), but Serena was amazing today.

Re: Dinara!

A big hug for Dinara.

That was a little hard to watch but not a painful as it would be if she had MP's and lost. Serena was really good. I think I was teary eyed before Dinara was. I'm not disappointed in her. I thought she did a great job in this tournament. I don't believe any fan of hers is disappointed in her, especially since she was the runner-up after losing in the 1st round last year. She didn't look nervous at all!

The bad part is I live in the U.S. so I had to put up with the biased commentary which made it harder to watch. Bud Collins' dumb remarks after the match weren't necessary.

I attached some "happy" pics.

Re: Dinara!

but with the commentators talking over the stadium sounds anyway there's no atmosphere
