Do you know if this tournament and the Legends of Tennis in Moscow will be televised? Thank you.

I hope to find a stream to watch.

Looks like Marat is missing tennis.

Nice find. But I remember him saying that shopping in London or New York is like discount shopping in comparison to Moscow. So yeah rich people perspective.

Re: News & Articles Part 3 - The Return of the Yeti

Pretty sure there will be live streams of both the Moscow tournament and the RG Legends, plus the Beeb usually shows the latter on the red button. EDIT: Forgot that ITV took over coverage in, like, 2012?

OK I'm not usually one for empty cynicism, but I think Safin's occasional jaunts into exhibition tennis may have more to do with the fat fees than any abiding love of the game. Yes, it's nice to see him on the court again (if indeed he deigns to appear), but the fact remains he has sold his soul to the devil, politically, no matter how charming he is in a tennis context. I am no longer able to separate the two.

Also, he can put a thrifty spin on his spending habits as much as he likes, but if you're shopping on Bond Street, "designer discounts" or not, you're paying silly money.

He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

like I said rich people perspective. of course is nice for us to have another chance to see him on court, I don't have a doubt about his reasons $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

even if he gets out from politics my opinion of him will never be the same.

Same here. The iron has entered my soul.

Article via La Rue du Bac confirming his appearance at RG this year, plus accompanying photos of him in younger (2006), arguably more gorgeous days. His nemesis Fabrice Santoro will be playing as well, haha.

It seems that Marat is also playing at the Afas Tennis Classics in Apeldoorn.

Re: News & Articles Part 3 - The Return of the Yeti

It's (almost) July, so it must be Saint-Tropez. They don't actually say he's playing, but let's assume he'll show up in some capacity. Via Classic Tennis Tour on Twitter.

Re: News & Articles Part 3 - The Return of the Yeti

Short article on the Classic Tennis Tour exho that Marat played today, via Varmatin. He's also playing tomorrow, a singles match v. Llodra, and dubs with Kafelnikov v. Borg and Santoro.

Worth mentioning that this is apparently the last exhibition that the mighty Bjorn Borg will ever play. Announcement via Classic Tennis Tour's Twitter.

PS: Varmatin included this pic from August 2011 in Cavalière. Remember when he used to look like this?

Fantastic news. Marat has been appointed ambassador for Nizhny Novgorod, one of the host cities of the 2018 FIFA World cup.

Re: News & Articles Part 3 - The Return of the Yeti

Don't know if this was mentioned anywhere else on site. I was wondering why Marat seemed to be getting back into "tennis shape" lately. According to this article, he will now be playing in the IPTL. Maybe this is old news - I don't know. I thought I would mention just in case.
