Mila:
Jess: I know where!

Re: News & Articles - Yeti Premonitions

Steph, Tarpi is as crazy as us.

No, seriously, I also thought that he and Dima would be the only decent doubles combo.
But I don't like this wrist hurting thing AT ALL. Btw WHY is Tarpi talking about the RIGHT wrist, at the AO 2003 he hurt the LEFT wrist. Is it really the RIGHT wrist now?
IF Kolya will be seriously injured (he has problems with the right shoulder as I understood) and not be able to play Marat might indeed get included in the team. And Roddick without much match practice and Blake being quite weak lately Russia MIGHT indeed have some chances.
They don't look THAT much better than healthy Dima & Misha right now.
But that's gonna be one helluva unpredictable DC final it seems.

Oh yep, Marat came to welcome them back. And it says that after the Himalaya part they went on to make plans for Latin America.

doubles are the only way to include their big mascot, i think ( though tarpi would probably like being able to use him as a possible 5th rubber surprise )

it has started to get less funny. Kolya is injured and might be tired after Shanghai, Igor's not even playing Bercy (?), Mitya has just lost to Fish. Though we do have our ever reliable Misha if he is healthy. I can understand why Tarpi wants to have Marat in the team just in case. And it's definitely not only for doubles.

At least Mitya won't be too tired for the Dnepopetrovsk challenger... And it's so sweet of him to sink in the ranking with Marat.

Mitya's got totally bezerk it seems. And both he and Misha lost to excellent Murray last week.
What's up with Igor? I mean he fought SOOOO hard this year to get the team to the final so he deserves to be in the team at least.

Btw I wonder if Roddick has any injury problems or is just saving himself for Shanghai and the DC final.

Je suis bien arrivé à Dnepopetrovsk, cependant déjà cette ville me fait peur...

I think Tarpi probably got it mixed up. But then again if there is one part of Marat's body that hasn't been injured already, it possibly will be during the remaining years (??) of his career
I kind of have a bad feeling about the final. The Americans seem to want the Cup so badly, Kolya hasn't seemed all that motivated and who knows if he can even play with his shoulder and Mitya and Igor haven't played well recently either.

I'm pretty sure Roddick wants to save himself for the Masters and DC. He's so patriotic, he'll do anything to win the DC.
Yeah, what's with Igor? I hope he's just taking a little break and will be fit for DC.
I think Marat will probably go to Portland, whether he play doubles or not, he will still be a good replacement just in case Tarpi wants to substitute a player.

I'm not sure Marat will be able to pull that stunt from last year another time

Re: News & Articles - Yeti Premonitions

An article from sovsport.ru (found the link on atptour.ru): interview with Abramov about mountain Marat...I hope this is a serious source of info, since, from what I understood from an online translation of this article, it says nice things about Marat

http://www.sovsport.ru/gazeta/defaul...0/31&id=272838

for those who do not know Russian try babelfish or rustran.com to get an idea (or get misled )about what the article says...of course we would be very grateful to anybody volunteering to translate this
