Well, hope is not lost yet. Pray that the strings we pulled actually work If not, we'll get drunk and beat up some officials to let us in or something.

Джиетка: why are you swiss?
Gabrielle: to show my support to federer you know, the slump, the career threatening illness..;

Well, if I don't see him this weekend, I'll probably chase him in Europe, but... I don't know he'll wake up in the morning, and will he decide to play this or that tournament. I planned going to Moscow one of those years, so I might have to hurry up

Pwease, don't tell your strings that I'll be rooting for Russia Thanks for all your efforts, guys After all, we can't change the world, so... We could only stalk the team in their hotel (do we know, where are they staying? I have 2-3 guesses)

I've paid for my accommodations and the trip there already. The worst that could happen is I spend a weekend in Sibiu with the girls, sightseeing and hitting the bars. And beating up all the officials we can find, of course.

in other words practicing for "after-Marat's-retirement" May I add that I could also be cranky, sad, and put spell on the officials? Or whining at Tarpi's door and beg him for mercy (and tickets)

Yeah, that's the only thing I'm worried about. That Tiriac&co are boycotting Ruxandra and when we get there most of the seats will be empty so she'll look bad He is low enough to pull shit like that.

Re: 2009 DC Thread

They will be staying at "Imparatul Romanilor"
We also plan to go "uninvited"and hopefully at least we will be able to chase him before and after the matches
I've heard last year half of the hall was empty,so maybe this year they will aloud us to fulfill the emptiness.Good luck to everybody in my position.

Cosy up to one of the Romanian guys (with a romanian flag in your hand and lots of makeup on) tell him you really want to watch him play..throw in a few facts about his career (see ATP players), bat your eyes, and ask him if he can get some tickets for you and your friends. And learn the words "I would be so happy" or just "please" in Romanian, or their equivalent of "Come on" Bats eyelashes again. Stuffed bras helpful if natural endowment not adequate. Grab tickets and run.

Re: 2009 DC Thread

From the tennis.com ticker:
Quote:
A local businessman has promised the Romanian Davis Cup team €20,000 for each match they win against Russian this weekend, as well as a €100,000 bonus if they win the tie. The tie is being held in Sibiu, Romania.
I'm not sure which way to look at this. I guess the Romanians are desperate for a win since they are the underdogs. Hopefully, this guy has no connection to betting.

That guy,is the main sponsor, the owner of the hotel they are staying in,he helped with the organisation of the hall, and was a candidate for beeing the FRT president.

not completely true. The 300 tickets reserved for the open public(only 15% of the stadium's capacity!) were sold in 15 minutes on Monday. The only ones who knew that those 300 tickets were on sale were the ones with "connections". The 300 tickets were supposed to be with 100 more than the ones provided for the tie against France(according to FRT). Actually, it was the same shit, only worse.

About 600 tickets are for the Russian officials and crowd and the other 1000 were invitations for the "fat cats". Basically, 50% of the stadium will be filled with sponsors and lucky people able to provide an invitation(for whatever cause).

For all i know, people without "connections" don't stand a chance. We aren't given the chance to even hope for a ticket.
And then they start appearing on press conferences, blaiming each other for who's responsible for the eternal poor organizing. I'm sick with this bullshit.
WOW. It does suck.
I'm really sorry for all of you girls
