A great disappointment for sure, and despite his stoical attitude, you can hear it in his voice in the radio itw.

A couple more pics for posterity:

Tel Aviv, 11 July 2009.

Funny picture.

Re: 2009 DC Thread

Short SI article on the Davis Cup quarter-finals aftermath.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ref=si_writers

This bit made me burst out laughing: "Rafael Nadal could be waiting for the Israelis after missing the quarterfinal victory against Germany with a knee injury."

It's just the image of one lone guy in a bandana with heavily strapped knees, taking on the entire squad!

But there you go, Burrow, finally a reason to like Rafa! Well, it's a start, innit? especially if he waxes Andy Ram.

Tweets of the Week:

"Does the Davis Cup ever end? Does it ever start? Does it take place in a vortex? Has anyone ever actually won a Davis Cup?" Bill Simmons, ESPN.com columnist (as re-tweeted by Amer Delic), July 11, 11:13 a.m. http://twitter.com/sportsguy33/statuses/2584604374

"Me and the dog watching Davis Cup http://twitpic.com/a1vmr" Andy Roddick, looking stoic while catching the Davis Cup action with a friend, July 11, 6:29 p.m.

"I'm in NYC shopping at Bergdorf Goodmans for shoes. I have serious shopping issues. A pair, okay, more than a pair of shoes are calling me." Serena Williams, confessing her shopaholic tendencies, July 13, 12:41 p.m. http://twitter.com/serenajwilliams/status/2618769116

I've been trying to think of a caption for this, but so far nothing grabs me! I think it was just a challenge ...
