Haha, I assure you he doesn't usually behave like that

Thanks for the pics !

Btw you might share this feeling :
Quote:
—This morning the editor of TENNIS Magazine, James Martin, told me that watching Marat Safin this weekend made him hate tennis. I can see his point; the man is looking more miserable than ever out there—that’s saying something—and that only makes his job seem like inhumane drudgery. In his loss to Gael Monfils in the Knucklehead Bowl, Safin cracked a racquet in the decisive third-set tiebreaker. But having already been warned, he had to play with it or risk losing a point. His return of serve flew out.

That I shall say hippo till it be morrow.

Oh yes, that captures my feelings, alright I swore to myself to take a break from tennis - and I did, until the Monday matches started.

Oh, it's James Martin. James Martin "no likes" Marat. Nothing new here. And I must admit, I didn't see any focus after the 5-2 in set 3 either... Until that point he did play admirably well, though. I would say "Hats Off", but right now I prefer him not to do that.

Comments about Marat "looking more miserable then ever" was made by Steve Tignor and I seriously think he didn't watch the match at all. As for hating tennis comment by Martin, well I can relate to that Marat makes me hate tennis too.

Re: 2009 Piccies Thread!!!

In Miami and in all his matches in Indian Wells, no matter how he played, Marat looked like he was fighting and wanted to win - and was mad when he didn't. I'm happy when I see that.

Re: 2009 Piccies Thread!!!

Scraped together a few pics of the Monfils match (not the boring daylife/zimbio ones):

The “GOSA” cheering section (goodness, don't they look young), with “FIN” apparently having rallied at the last minute. "N" is being coaxed out of his modesty by "F" while "I" is obviously transfixed by the sight of Marat. And we know the Story of "O".

Re: the shaved head, it could be either a sign of Marat's extreme focus and determination OR he's timing it to grow into the perfect semi-final length for Wimbledon (3 months = 1.5 inches or so). Dunno.

Since Icon Sports Media are clearly prepared to flex their legal biceps (see "Special instructions" section), I'm posting a link only to these pics. Which are watermarked anyway, sod them.

Disappointment:

Forehand with a hint of abs:

Ditto for backpage images.

http://www.backpageimages.com/events...644&event=5644

And two for the road (both from this year's tournament). The charming Andy Roddick (I think this speaks for itself) ...

... and a fun ‘n’ fruity practice shot of Tipsy with his gym shorts bunched up like a schoolgirl!

Now let your hair grow out a bit, Marat!
