For non german speaking people: BILD (reliable newspaper...not) talks about how Marat got chubby.
This is how a chubby person looks like (the photo is very recent, taken in Hamburg):

Marat is NOT chubby. IMO, I think he's a little too thin now. What are those people smoking?

At least he is qualified now for MD, some ranking points and 2 wins under his belt. Now go for some wins in the MD Marat.

Updated draw. Marat to play Marin Cilic in R1.
(If he wins, he'll meet Berdych R2. Possible R3 is Stepanek or Moya. Then Nadal, then.... Oh well. )

Marin CILIC (CRO) vs. Marat SAFIN (RUS)

Rosset isn't with him anymore?

Re: "Jetzt geht's los" ... Grannies on a party trip (Hamburg 2008 thread)

I heard his coach was scheduled to come on Tuesday, considering he can win his match tomorrow. I think they are confident Marat can at least reach the second round

Re: "Jetzt geht's los" ... Grannies on a party trip (Hamburg 2008 thread)

Cilic was one of the best options if you look at the other players that he might have met in the 1st round, so I'm not really displeased. I saw some of Cilic's match against Potito in Rome and he didn't impress me at all. He's like a poor version of Ancic. Ofc, that doesn't mean he can't beat Marat but I'm hoping that our man has a bit of confidence after geting through the qualies and especially the hard match against Korolev who played really really well in Rome too...and maybe he'll also find some inspiration looking at his sister's victory. I'm in a happy moment, so I'm flowing with optimism...oooooh and the girls are there to cheer for him show some faith

Goooo SAFIN ~ BERDYCH ~ MURRAY ~ SIMON ~ NALBANDIAN ~ SODERLING
