I agree with Vass's question "what does 'who cares' stand for"! I'm assuming that the votes for the 'who cares' option gets put into the 'stay' vote count as those people obviously don't take offence by it (hopefully I haven't misunderstood people's intentions).
I would agree that it shouldn't be a distraction to the main threads as obviously some of the articles are so obviously trash and some people do seem to take it all a little too seriously. However, I think an absolute ban would be a shame as the majority take it with a large pinch of salt and I'm a great believer in free speech (personal privacy is also important, obviously). A lot of the current threads in any case go well off the point at quite some length. Putting it all in a separate thread seems the best plan - I wonder though if calling it anything related to 'girlfriends' is a good idea as perhaps this is what sets people off?! Why not give the thread a title that is unrelated to 'girlfriends' or 'gossip' - I can't actually think of anything creative...why not just call it 'Irrelevant stuff' or something equally as innocuous.
I think I'd list the WHO CARES as people who are undecided or people who honestly don't care and it could stay or go and it wouldn't make a difference to them.
The changing of the thread title to something innocuous is a good suggestion. Any suggestions for a suitable title? What I'm afraid of though is that some people will come in here, look around for a GF thread, "find" none and start a new one
of course. I could merge it
