The draw is out: if he manages to beat the qualifier ( ), then he'll play Kolya.

Well, on the bright side Kolya is not playing his best tennis at the moment, on the down side, as someone on GM pointed out, the qualifier Marat faces in the first round just could be Canas!

oh well, marat vs an unknown qualifier, or marat vs a strong player, what's scariest, can you tell ?? i can't... anyway, whoever he plays, he just has to play his best, that's all. and all we have to do is forget about our nerves. LOL

Not really, he'll find a creative way to lose to either

It's just you don't want to have a lot of expectations, because when you start to have a lot of expectations you just end up losing in the third round to God knows who. ~Marat Safin, summarizing his career

let's pick the most suitable qualifier for Marat. I hope it won't be Hidalgo (again ) maybe Karlovic would be suitable as he's not a clay court specialist and has a similar game to Marat's. Or maybe Kunitsyn because he's young.Let it be any other than Canas otherwise there would be no hope
