The German grammar is the worst ever to tell the truth because there are so many exceptions.
Hard to believe but there are even more exceptions in French...Every German teacher i had never failed to remind us that plus that we couldn't complain since it could be worse since we could have been poor German students having to learn it the other way round...
One even made us compare the height and weight of two complete grammar books of both German and French and the French one was like...5 times bigger and heavier...

If I had signed up for a French course at a language school I would really feel like resigning from it after reading your post.

If I had lots of time on my hands I would learn it, the cyrillic characters don't scare me at all.

Ooops! Sorry...
Houla! Désolée...
But the grammar is so difficult (and obsolete and not useful for some part of it... ) that it's even for the French (!) so colloquial/spoken French only uses a relatively small part of it! I hope that reassures you!

At least it's successful, you can't complain!
Au moins il a du succès, tu n'a pas le droit de te plaindre!

At the moment I don't have time for language courses anyway. Unfortunately.
Leider.
