Re: lleyton and nike

There's an article about his clothing endorsement contract in the 2005 Articles thread here. The short answer is that his Nike contract is over, and he hasn't decided on a new sponsor yet.

C'mon, Lleyton!

Rumour has it his management team has narrowed it down to Reebok, Fila, and Yonex (head to toe).

Re: lleyton and nike

Yonex would be a nice choice, given its prominence in the Asian markets. I don't know too much about its clothes lines, though.

C'mon, Lleyton!

Re: lleyton and nike

Thanks for the info. Nothing special about Yonex.

Back in the 80s, Ellesse was my favorite clothing sponsor, but I think they went out of business.

Thanks for the info, Sagroove!

Wouldn't it be kind of funny if it were Fila, and then Kim and Lley could be featured on their posters?

I was wondering when somebody (besides me) was going to pick up on the irony of that, but I decided to be prudent and let somebody (besides me) say something first.

That would be OUTRAGEOUS Star...... but funny as hell nevertheless. Personally, I am hoping Reebok gets the nod and Lleyton is sporting RBK at the US Open with the pump shoes......"C'mon !!!!! "

lol

Wow, that'll be very weird, Lleyton without Nike. Have to get used to that

Re: lleyton and nike

My vote would go to Fila

| Marat Safin | Lleyton Hewitt | Olivier Rochus |
| Murray | Tipsarevic | Mahut | Srichaphan | Gulbis|
| Dominika Cibulkova | Alicia Molik | Svetlana Kuznetsova | Tatiana Golovin |

| Rafter | Majoli | Kim Clijsters | Schalken | Enqvist |

My first thaught, when I read he wasn't going to wear Nike anymore, was also FILA - and seeing him & Kim making commercials together .
Not only because Kim is also wearing it, but according to my humble opinion, I like their clothes more then the Reebok ones. And I've never heard of that other one (sorry!!).

Also known as teigetje at WTA

Yonnex -- Nalbandian and Pim Pim wear Yonnex. NOT a good look, imo.

Is Lleyton's racquet Yonnex?

Yes. Is it spelled with one "n" or two? I'm hoping that, whichever sponsor he chooses, they create a line branded for him. That's the advantage of being the biggest fish in the pond, which is not the case with Nike, which hasn't even branded a line for Federer, although the clamdiggers are functioning that way for Nadal.

C'mon, Lleyton!
