I'm back... and in a better mood

Well I'm not going to analyse Lley's match for y'all cuz Cilla already did an awesome job of that but I will say that he made way too many errors and also playing... different! I've never seen him come to net so many time and as much as I hate to admit it his volleys simply aren't good enough for him to be at net so much

Seems Lley is becoming more friendly too lol... he did a pre tournament interview with one of the TSN guys ( ) which they just showed. No good questions though, the same old things he gets asked all the time Like if his Wimby victory has set in yet and how he can always be so concentrated and intense... Lley is so cute though, so shy.... he was always looking at the floor during the interview lol

Thanx Angele Glad you are in a better mood. I have to say I do agree about LL's volleys but he can be really great at the net e.g In the Final of the USO 2001 One stat that sticks out in my mind is 8 times ventured to the net 100% Record. So he has got the ability but as a baseliner it is not natural in his game to be venturing into the net so much. He will never be a Rafter or a Cash when it comes to net play. see when we are discussing tennis Spritfullfrog is never around!

You're right Cilla, he does have the ability to be good at net but he just came in way too much last night! I'm trying to find the exact number but I can't. I do know that they showed stats last night during the match and at one point he had come to net 20 times And this was before the rain break

I didn't watch the whole match so I missed a good portion of the swearing lol although my friend told me about it When I got back from the dentist today I was able to catch the end of the match and I did have to cover my ears a couple of times

Cilla, Angele.... of course I'll pick you up at the airport! You guys can take my room, there are two beds.
Ooh, can I come too? Cilla and Angele can take one bed, and I'll share with Scott.

I have more girl friends than guy friends, but my guy friends are so much more relaxing to be around. They're a lot more, well, simple. And plus I can talk sports with them, whereas with the girls I can just feel my eyes glazing over when they start up with the makeup and hair crap.

I like my dad pretty well. He was a travelling salesman up until the time I was 6, which meant he wasn't home much, so we never really got that whole father-daughter bond thing down good. We get along okay most of the time. The big problem is that while I have more of my mom's personality (I'm just like a younger, taller version of her ) I have my dad's temperment, so we get pissed off at each other a lot. Patience is NOT a virtue either one of us posesses. We yell at each other a lot, particularly when we're working.

Quote:
The commentators on LL's match Mark Petchey and Leif Shiras. I will deal with one involving Kim before I forget. Ok LL was starting to get a little down against Mantilla and Shiras had already mentioned previously that LL had spent the week he was ill with Kim in Palo Alto, Stanford. So anyway Petchey suggested that maybe the fact that he spent the week with Kim in Stan and the travel and the time difference had taken his toll. Then a few points elapsed and Petchey brought up the split with Darren Cahill he suggested that one of the reasons that trouble (or cracks began as Petch put it) Started to appear between Cahill and Lley was that he spent too much of his free time last year with Kim e.g spending a few extra days at one opf her tournies rather than coming to his own tournie and prepare apparantely Cahill didn't really like this. Opinions??
Well, I don't think that staying with Kim in Stanford had much, if anything, to do with Lleyton's loss. I just think he hasn't completely adjusted to the hard courts yet, and he's still feeling the effects of his illness. However, saying that, it might've been a better idea for Lleyton to leave a little earlier than he did, instead of staying for Kim's semi-final.

Now the rest of this is very, very interesting. Actually, Ingrid and I have discussed this several times before.

If my memory serves, Lleyton was with Kim in Stanford last year before flying to Toronto (or Montreal or whatever it was last year) and losing. After playing in Stanford, she lost in the 2nd round at the eStyle.com classic, whatever name that goes by now. I don't know what they did the rest of that week. Then Kim played the big women's tournament in Canada, and Lleyton played in Cincy. I don't remember if he played in Indianapolis last year, but if he did, we can safely assume he flew to Kim's tournament when he lost. She also played in a tournament the week before the Open; that's where she injured her hamstring and had to pull out in the SFs.

Anyways. My point is that whenever one of them lost early or had a week off, they were together.

I don't know if y'all ever heard this or not, but there was an incident during a practice session at one of these tournaments (maybe Ingrid remembers) between Lleyton and Cahill. Apparently, Cahill said something to him, and they got in an argument which ended when Lleyton fired a tennis ball at him and walked off.

This is where Ingrid and I came in. We figure, as this Petchey dude apparently does, that Cahill didn't like the fact that Lleyton was spending his free time with Kim. I guess he thought it was affecting Lleyton's tennis, and keeping him from focusing like Cahill thought he should. Our hypothesis is that Cahill brought it up and told Lleyton he needed to cut down on his Kim-time, or said something disparaging about her, etc. And of course, that pissed Lleyton off, and who can blame him? And it also pissed off Glynn and Cherilyn as it's obvious that they both adore Kim. I doubt it sat well with Kim herself, not that she would make an issue of it.

So, yeah. I think Petchey is right on the money with what he said. I don't think being with Kim affects Lleyton's tennis negatively (the opposite, in fact) but I think that their relationship grated on Cahill's nerves for some reason, be it in a personal or professional aspect, and was probably the main reason why he was replaced.

I think it's fairly safe to assume that both Marly and Ingrid are far too intelligent for me

I never even heard about the arguement (note: this is where you guys fill me in ) and I never even thought about what you just wrote about Marly Having said that, I totally agree except I don't think Darren would say something bad about Kim (at least I hope not ) however I agree, he probably did have a problem with Lley spending so much of his free time with her. I also think that it probably helps Lleyton to be with her as much as possible. Keeps him relaxed and down to earth, at least I think. And it's not as if Lleyton's career has gone downhill since he started dating Kim

I wouldn't say that; we're just older and have an alarming propensity for 3 hour chat sessions! Then again, I am a doctor.

I don't think he came out and said, you know, "Stop hanging around your bitchy girlfriend and acting like a nympho," or anything, but you never know. Some of the rudest, most immature and ill-behaved people I've come across in my life have been adults. Anything's possible, if not terribly likely.

Yeah you're right... and I guess also in the heat of the moment Darren could of said something bad about Kim without meaning it (at least I hope not) cuz I don't think Darren hates Kim or anything lol

Lol... Marie and I used to have long chats about Lley and Kim... never quite to serious though but that's probably due to our lack of *comes with age* knowledge Btw, how old in Ingrid anyway?

I don't think he hates her, either. She'd been with Lleyton for about a year and a half at this point; if he really disliked her personally, it would've been hard to hold in that long. Besides, how can you not like Kimmy?

Nah, talking about goofy, gooberish stuff is fun! Besides, we're girls, it comes with the territory. As long as you also have the ability to carry on a civil, mature conversation too, it's all good.

Marly, since when am I a patient of yours???
(now I will have to be careful, haven't got any bill yet...)

As to my age Angele, let's put it in this way: one fairly could say that I am not the youngest in here LOL.

You're right, he has to like Kimmie... well not has to but I can't see he wouldn't like her. Although the more I think of it the more I can see that from a coach's point of view their relationship could sometimes be, not a bother but... just when they spend time with each other instead of being out practicing or whatever. Not that's it's a bad thing by any means that they spend tons of time together but if Darren was uptight at all, which he kinda seemed to be, I can see that a problem would arise... don't think anything was due to not liking Kim personally though!

Marly, as to that stuff about Darren, yep, we have had some chats about that, didn't we LOL.

Right now I can't remember when that incident between Lleyton and Darren happened, I think Indianapolis but I am not sure about it, am way too tired right now to be able of remembering much ...

Anyway, not long after that, Lleyton's parents stopped talking to Darren, that I know for sure.

As far as I recall now, Darren didn't like Lleyton and Kim being together when they had an early loss in a tournament, or at least that was said. He'd rather had Lleyton focusing on the next tourney instead of going to Kim's tourney or Kim coming to his tournament, it all had to do with something like that, as far as I can remember right now.
