What the hell was going on,Gaston? Even though I want Ivan to play in TMC so much,I don't want to see his mental breakdown again. I'm sure he can hold serve,Tomas made errors too,but he abandoned in the 2nd set,he didn't run,and French crowd booed him after he lost the crappy match. They were too harsh!

Now I hope Hewitt will pull out in TMC.

Stan The Paris Man

Cheer for: Wawrinka Murray Ljubicic Gonzalez Mahut Nishikori Soderling Tipsarevic Mathieu Monfils Muller Tsonga Berdych Acasuso O.Rochus Kiefer...

What else can I add? That there's been a match only in the 1st set. That Berdych has been strong to resist the fact that he was playing a guy who stopped playing in the 2nd set, and it's not as easy as it seems. That the crowd has booed and that it was logical, after seeing David Ferrer fight the way he had fought, getting so close to victory and not on course for Shangaï. For them, seeing the 7th seeded player, playing his ticket to Shangaï, offering such a disastrous performance in the 2nd set has been interpreted as a true lack of respect. What happened? Got no clue. The mind will remain mysterious. I mean it's not like we didn't know it could happen. We're disappointed, sad, disgusted for some...but that's the way things have turned out and there's nothing we can do to change anything to it. Only Gaston has the key to those situations. Let's focus now on his alternate ticket for Shangaï. And most of all, this may not be the place, but congratulations to Tomas.

Best of LUCK to ALL my Faves in 2015

Well first of all congratulations to Berdych, he was the better player in the 1st set and as for the 2nd set he was better then as well and managed not to lose focus when Gaston decided to check out of the tournament.

It seems he has a phobia of getting past the QFs in a non-clay event, but as for what went on in his head, who knows and who cares. Maybe he realised his fate and decided to not to fight and as for the crowd booing and jeering, well it was understandable. I mean when he consistently starts serve/volleying then that should be a clear sign, that something funny is going on.

A good tournament ruined by a bad last set.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
