Exclamation Agassi and Nalbandian pulled out : Race over!

Andre Agassi has withdrawn from the BNP Paribas Masters. The American had his agent notify the tournament organization that he was suffering from his reoccurring right hip injury. He is replaced in the main draw by Romanian lucky-loser Victor Hanescu.

David Nalbandian, initially N° 8 seed of the BNP Paribas Masters, has also pulled out of the tournament, without providing the organization with an official reason. He has however indicated that he will have the tournament doctor, Bernard Montalvan, examine him today, Monday November 1st.
Nalbandian is replaced in the main draw of the BNP Paribas Masters by Italian lucky-loser Davide Sanguinetti.

Re: Agassi and Nalbandian pulled out

The Champions Race for the three remaining places at the Masters Cup in Houston is over following the withdrawal of Andre Agassi and David Nalbandian from the Paris Masters.

Now let's consider what happens if Federer, Moya and Coria pull out of Houston.

In that case, Agassi and Nalbandian get in, and the 3rd place is contested by anyone from 11th (J Johansson) to 29th (Ancic).

PAW Results

Re: Agassi and Nalbandian pulled out : Race over!

hewitt is still in there. im pretty sure moya and coria will both play tmc. coria's said he's played a full set without pain, so hoepfully the next 2 weeks will let him get at least in semi-decent form, i just wanna see the guy play before the year ends, and he deserves to be there.

moya, i think hes just resting up for the davis cup finals. he's already qualified, has no chance of being #1, so why play this week and risk injuring himself?

roddick and hewitt, honestly, i think they just like the cash, plus indoor suits both of them fairly well (hewitt made the finals here 2 years ago ddn't he?)

What I don't like about the masters is that they give a wild-card to a player who wins a Grand Slam but who otherwise fails to qualify for the cup. The masters is supposed to be about the 8 best players. As for Coria, I won't be surprised if he plays one match & then retires. The money for one round-robin is pretty good.
