Re: Andrea Gaudenzi deserves more credit than he's given

One of the first tennis matches I've seen was Gaudenzi - Spadea in Rome. And people were shouting "Andrea, Andrea" and the brilliant Polish commentator assumed they were shouting "Spa-de-a" (by our pronounciation) and said it's because of his Italian roots.

well, he has a point for believing that (despite being wrong) as Vinnay Ice is loved everywhere

Goran had his odd moments on clay for his all serve game, he actually had some good wins on the surface.

Only time Andrea defeated Goran was on a hardcourt. He had this injuries as well twice tearing ligaments in his left ankle, breaking a finger and hand in addition to the shoulder.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Andrea Gaudenzi deserves more credit than he's given

yeah, I know about his ligaments problems but it was his shoulder that bothered him the most

do you think any of the new italians can reach top 20?

Do that and I will find out what he is up to these days?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Underachiever in a way.

Saw him play against Costa in Kitzbühel, solid clay courter.
