He was an attacking player, who played well against the big guys and was Haarhuis's doubles partner.

Wiuthout too much stereotyping, I've noticed Dutch players tend to be quit tall- that helps make the serve come down at an angle which can give all sorts of problems- and most of them were pretty good net players with big wingspans, so it was difficult for Pete to make the passing shots.
