The topic related to Youtube.com tennis highlights got me to do a search of one of the most talented, yet enigmatic players in tennis history: Henri Leconte. The man (there must be something about lefties) was a genius for the ages. When he was off, he couldn't defeat a local pro...but when he was on even Federer on his best day would have a difficult time defeating him.
Incredible shot maker off both wings. Beautiful and the net. Huge lefty serve.
just finish watching youtube clips of Henri he was good but everyone knows federer on a good day means bagel and i can see him giving Henri a few of them, maybe on a off day he's not playing well then he might have a chance.
I remember at our tennis club they showed us video clips of his volleys when we were doing volleys. According to our coach, he had the most beautiful and effective "stop volley" especially on the backhand wing he had ever seen.
One day, Leconte could play like the best player ever, and other like a piece of complete crap. He really had genius in him and was great to watch... Thanks Riton for the great memories !
Thank you for the memories. He was one of my childhood "heroes".
He could get me through despair, joy, and awe in the same match.
And almost 17 years later, I still get goosebumps watching replays of the 91 DC final.
Thanx for the clips!
One of the gratest I've ever seen, magnificient touch.
