i think Rogi will pull out of this one due to playing so much this year but I hope not. He should have time for R/R after the open. He is going to LA after it for business and relaxation reasons.

Re: 种种 Roger Federer Chering Thread 种种

local newspaper reports:

揂s the 2004 US Open champion I look forward to playing my first event in Bangkok at the Thailand Open. I抳e never played in Bangkok, but I抦 sure it will be a huge thrill to be in the draw as the new US Open Champ, said the world No 1, who has won three Grand Slams this year, missing only the French Open.

He is the first person since Mats Wilander in 1988 to achieve the feat.

Federer抯 win at Flushing Meadows confirmed his status as the World抯 No1 player, but Federer is still relishing the challenge of the Thailand Open.

揑 will need to be on top form as so many great players have entered for Bangkok and they will all want to beat the US Open champion, he said.

Why Bangkok? Isn't the tournament in Japan more prestitious and have more points and prize money? Besides that, isn't it good for Federer to promote his name in the 2nd biggest economy in the world?

I'd like Rogi to play Tokyo one day... I'm sure they want him too!

Do what you can do, Rogi, doesn't matter!

Will he ride an elephant like Carlos did last year? and learn to do Thai dancing??

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

Re: 种种 Roger Federer Chering Thread 种种

Not sure why he chose this either. I guess Roger may have wanted to play indoors, but still have a break before Madrid. Lyon would have fitted the bill better imo; he could have had a longer holiday after the USO, and it's closer to home so less travelling, and worth more points. Guess it must have been the appearance fee, that's the only explanation that makes any sense. Fancy a 175pt tournament getting both of the top 2 players though - pretty unusual I think.

Re: 种种 Roger Federer Chering Thread 种种

Yeah they must offer Rogi a pretty penny to go there. He also probably want to have one Asia tourney in his schedule.

I wish he will pull out so he can have longer vacation before Madrid. He will have to play three weeks non stop.

Good luck Roger!
