Main Draw (Singles)

Sorry for the tease

The MD is supposed to be made right about now so I'm hoping that it will be online in an hour. I know that's being optimistic but I don't think I can stay up much past 2 AM and I really want to see who Alex draws.

PAW 2013:
Munich - 2nd place
Halle - 4th place
's-Hertogenbosch - 4th place
GSTAAD - WINNER

And?

Alex almost beat him in Bangkok last year and that's when Juanqui was playing near his best. Now he has no confidence. Besides, I was only looking to the 2nd round....

Sounds like you have some pretty high hopes for Juanqui to get to the SFs. I would only take it round by round the way his 2004 has went.

Re: Main Draw (Singles)

All 3 wild cards granted to Chinese players. I can see the host can afford no more money inviting celebrity players. The 5th Grand Slam, huh?

Yes - you're right about David having no confidence now - so that's exactly WHY he's playing in these "useless" events - to get some match practice, fitness AND confidence prior to the last two Masters' events of the season. He has actually played so little this year that this is only the third non-Masters or Grand Slam that he has played in 2004 - the other two being Dubai and Barcelona back in March and April, so it's not something he makes a habit of His physical injuries seems to be behind him now (crossing fingers!), but the mental and emotional ones take longer to heal. Good Luck David

Re: Main Draw (Singles)

Damn, does this mean Rainer will most likely meet Youzhny if he makes R2?

My German guys are like the cast of the Wizard of Oz:

Rainer = Lion
Kiwi = Scarecrow
Tommy = Tin Man
Flo = Dorothy

...but I still love 'em
