I asked something similar in the comment section of Zootennis. But my question went even further asking why he had to play qualifying for the 16s. WHat I understood from Colette Lewis's response was that he was originally singed up for the 18s, but then he and his team realized at the last second that they reached the limit of number of ITFs that a 15 year old is allowed to play: 15yr olds can only play up to 16 tournaments in the ITF 18 and Under division. So they had to withdraw and quickly join the 16s tournament. (this is where I'm still a little confused by her explanation). I'm assuming it was just too late to join the main draw but not too late to get into qualifying and so that is what happened.

I heard he had played too many ITF events, (at age 15 he is limited to 16) so he couldn't play the 18s, but can play 16s.
He would have missed the 16s deadline if he didn't realize that, so that's why he was in 16s qualifying.

Nothing to talk about, Borna is always bad on his first tournament.
Afterall, this is just Grade 1,next on will be Grade A.
I suppose Borna will play finals of a doubles.

Re: Eddie Herr International | USA | G1 | 26 November - 02 December 2012

Can't see anyone beating Nishioka in the bottom quarter of the draw. Bambridge vs Garin will be a good match, and I think the winner of that match will probably be in the semi's, maybe final. Now that Coric is out, I'm going to say that Zverev is in that semi-final, but I may just still be hyped about his futures run last week. I think Ymer vs Rubin will be another tight match, I have really high expectations for Ymer.

I hope that match will be between Baldi and Ymer, if Filo won't be too tired it's possible.

Rubin is one of my favs but looking at the form they're both in, I have to expect Baldi to pull through that one. He's on fire at the moment.

Edit: Add to this that Rubin has been sick this week.http://twitter.com/Noahrubin33/statu...93570420744192
