Future Slam tour/ Madrid 2008 16U

I heard about a Tournament by invitation for 16 players ,the 8 best Spaniards and 8 from rest of the world 16U. Organized by former player Francisco "Pato" Clavet. Begins next tuesday July 10th...sinthetic grass court... Its kind of a circuit of 4 tournaments . Last one have Miguel Almeida(POR) Carlos Boluda(Spain), Sebastian Lavie (NZL) Mate Sziga ..
Does someone knows about this : Website , where to look for draws, results....

Re: Future Slam tour/ Madrid 2008 16U

As far as I know there is no website, still some information you can find on www.tenispain.com

The circuit also will have a Masters tournament played in the end and the idea is to play these tournaments approximately in the same time with the Grand Slams, on the same type of courts. This is why now they'll play on grass. Even if this will be synthetic

The first tournament was played in Girona in May.

Re: Future Slam tour/ Madrid 2008 16U

You're welcome!

I'm afraid you found a notice from 2007.

Here is a breif description of what happened in May 2008, in Girona
http://www.tenispain.com/tenispain/t...tp=OTJ&an=2008

Unfortunately, they only publish the results of the Spaniards.

On the other hand, there was some video on You Tube, maybe it's still there.

As far as I know, among the non-Spaniards, there will be Dzhumur and Porumb.

Marcos, that was the final in May, in Girona. This is another tournament and there will 1 more tournament and a Masters as well.

Now Andrea is not there; non-Spaniards include Dzhumur, Porumb, Mate Zsiga, Hidalgo, Almeida, a Japanese guy. Among the Spaniards, Marti is the best one who came, Boluda is not there.

The 8 Spaniards play in the first round with the 8 foreigners. today Porumb won and Hidalgo lost, unfortunately I don't have the name of the opponents and the results

Check out this link, you'll understand more than I did

Re: Future Slam tour/ Madrid 2008 16U

Hi,

Yes this is Pato Clavet's baby. I already told him off, for not promoting it well enough! Even his own website (http://www.deporgadyd.com/) only has info from last year's circuit. The press release for this year can be found here: http://tenis.net/img/future_slam.pdf. There was also some info on the website of the Barcelona ATP tournament. Because that is where they did the presentation for the press (same as last year). But more info in Spanish then in English there.

Vamos Pato

Re: Future Slam tour/ 2009 series

Today Pato Clavet presented the 2009 Future Slam Tour at the Barcelona ATP tournament. There is not much info (yet) on Internet. But he sent me the press release. They did not get funding for the first tournament, so that was cancelled. The rest of the schedule is now:
Gerona: May 21-24
Madrid: June 18-21
Vigo: August 13-17
Oviedo: November 19-22 (Masters)

Vamos Pato
