Rafa, FED~~really want `status quo`ATP?..#De.Villy resented for being tennis outsider

I wonder if FED truly understands how the ATP changes were going to work & the fact that De.Disney`s master plan was actually to see FED break all the records [successive years at #1 etc..]

For instance this week only a handful of players have 1st Rd byes at Monte Carlo & this is due to De.Disney`s reforms~ in an attempt to get his big drawcards [& FED`s the biggest drawcard] into all the major finals. The bye at Monte Carlo gives Roger more time to rest & enables him to be fresh near the business end

Also the 2009 calender was going to give greater weight to faster court players & less emphasis to slower court players [as witnessed by the plans to scrap two clay AMS events (MC & Hamburg)]... This new emphasis was surely going to help FED maintain the #1 ranking in the ensuing years, as his main challenger for the top spot, Rafa Nadal, was the one who was going to be disadvantaged .. The new schedule would have helped FED cement his legend to an even greater degree

###
Is Jesus Fed actually such an angel that he`s more concerned about the affects the new ATP schedule was going to have on clay courters or did he simply not realise that De.Disney was actually doing everything in his power to help FED maintain his amazing run at the top

***
How short are people`s memories???!!!!><...

`@@`At the AO just a few months ago Federer was asked his opinion about changes to the ATP tour & making Madrid AMS a big joint tourney on clay!!

-->> Then FED said something to the effect:"...there are enough big tourneys in Europe already... I`m more concerned with getting big tourneys to move to Asia & perhaps staging an AMS there".. [*FED`s opinion as of January 2007 (if you don`t believe me I can waste time trying to find the interview but I`d be happy if you took my word for it].

->Fast forward to April 2007 & FED holds a joint press conference with Nadal saying that "we`re unhappy about the rate of changes ... this is just a little cry for help...etc." [yesterday`s breaking sports news].

>Then we arrive at today [April 17th] & hear the news that Shanghai`s AMS status has been confirmed starting 2009!!

~~Hello!!!!
...
This is exactly what FED was asking for only a few months ago!!!

He said he wanted to shift big tourneys from Europe/US to Asia & in the last 3-months the ATP has said that 2-years down the track there will be an AMS in Asia for the 1st time & two in Europe will be scaled down!!

%OoO%...
All De.Disney was trying to do was appease FED`s call for the shift towards the Asian tennis boom >>> & looks what poor Villiers gets in return [a kick in the guts in the worst kind of public humiliation]..

I understand FED wants to improve the game of tennis for the worldwide audience but it seems to me that De.Disney had the same idea [albeit with less technical knowledge on the game itself]!!

Poor De.Villiers~ he`s a silly Billy for trying to take FED`s advice on board><...

PS. If FED were aware of his own public contradiction [regarding his comments in light of the changes & his interview at AO just 3-months ago]~~ then he`d probably be embarrassed himself.. Unfortunately nobody is game to tell him his blunder><..

Also I don`t like how Silly Villiers is getting sand in his face!!... FED said himself that "Mark Miles didn`t do enough... & now De.Villiers is doing too much"....

We know FED is a perfectionist but he`s also a hard man!!.. The rough handling of De.Disney [less than a year into the job] is enought to scare anybody else away from wanting the position in the future... Does FED really believe he`d be doing a better job himself if he were in charge of the ATP???!! ... It`s easy to complain but not so easy to take tough decisions & actually bring about the reform that`s being asked for, whilst simultaneously keeping everyone happy by maintaining the current state of affairs
!!!!

Your threads are annoying.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

I do sometimes think that they players contradict themselves - they want a better calendar, but they're not prepared to do anything about it.

Then they go and play exhibitions.

Still, it's not a good state of affairs when players as sensible as Roger feel they need to bleat to the media in order to be heard.

That does not reflect well on the ATP's leadership at all.

These clay courters, are these guys like Nadal who just won Indian Wells for example? Maybe Federer realises that it would be a bit stupid to only have 2 clay court Masters, in comparison to at least double that on hard, seeing as clay is quite an important aspect of the season.

I knew someone couldn`t resist the bait to take a crack at me for daring to use the words NADAL & CLAY in the same sentence ... What a crime

**
Yes I know Nadal can play well on all surfaces~~ yes it`s also a fact that clay is his best suface

Yes I know Federer can play well on clay~~ yes it`s also a fact that clay is his worst surface

NOTE: Simply pointing out the obvious [Yes Nadal can win Wimby, & yes Federer can win FO....>> are you happy now ].

...
I`m not saying anything radical , sitll you couldn`t help yourself could you

I think Roger give you the right answer to this question himself

OK~~> FED has simply confirmed his JESUS status

Seriously I know he`s a good guy .. But I feel sorry for De.Disney ~ he`s just a Fed fan like many & he wanted to do his best to see Roger break records held by Sampras, Borg, Connors, Lendl etc.. Poor Disney, talk about being kicked in the teeth

you mean "to spite his face"?

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

No, not a crime. Just stupidity, which you knew already and why you expected to be called on that.

For the record, I don't care about Nadal here, I was referring to the "clay courters" tag which encompasses more players than just Nadal, and many of those players who excel on clay, actually do pretty well for themselves away from clay and far better in comparison to their "fast court" counterparts. You stated the new format would harm the clay courters, when actually it'll make little difference in that regard to the overall standing.

Oops, almost forgot...
