Gasquet def. Grosjean 6-4, 0-6, 6-2

A bit of a puzzler there.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Gasquet clearly the superior player in that match - except for a 25 minute brain fart that was the second set.

He needs to cut that out.

Well, I felt that Seb was good enough to take a set off him, but I didn't expect that type of scoreline

A bit of immaturity there in the second set. He likes to tank sets which he thinks he has no chance of winning.

Canas/Ferrero next. Wouldn't be surprised if he lost.

Damn, I wish Grosjean would give one last brilliant performance in a big tournament.

Strange display from Gasquet. Some pretty good net play though.

Cañas - Gasquet should be interesting...

The first serve was non-existant and the rest of the game went with it. Besides, there were some FH beauties from Grosjean. But in the end it was a win, even if not a beautiful one. Two years ago he would have lost this match, I am rather sure.

yeah I must admit it was not pretty even though I was rooting for gasquet.
well, but a win is a win. well done richie. you were lucky to play with grosjean who is one of the best chokers.
however, Serena-somebody match would've been more appropriate for ATP than this.

The most important is win , but second set was
I hope he will get some lighter draws because comparing his draw to Djoko in IW and Miami is and of course he was the one who got Canas as a Q in first rounds I hope he will rise his level a little , otherwise Canas will beat him

Re: Gasquet def. Grosjean 6-4, 0-6, 6-2

Gasquet got annoyed at the spectators when they would not get in their seats on time, and it pretty much caused him to gift the second set to Grosjean.

Good to see that he got his head together in the 3rd though.
