Senior citizen Spadea beats Ginepri 6-1, 6-3

You know Ginepri is struggling when he gets beat by a rapper/tennis player born in 1974.

Ugh, Robby WTF? This is a downright embarrassing result. Of all the tools from whom to receive a beatdown...shame on you.

Robby looked just great in his purple sleeveless shirt which matched the court colour. Sadly, his tennis was not so great.

What is up with Ginepri? His ranking has slipped to 42 (of course he dropped like a stone, from 21 to 40 by not defending his US Open points last year).

Spadea is getting hot at just the right time. He has plans to dominate the clay court season, and who are we to question?

Re: Spadea beats Ginepri 6-1 6-3

Why are people surprised? Ginepri is horrible on slow courts and Miami can play very slowly. Robby is a confidence player, a player that seems to get his game together for the summer North American hardcourt season then carries that momentum into the autumn but in spring he's abysmal. You have to go back to 2004 to find any decent form in the early part of the season from Robby.

Has Ginepri actually done anything of note since his run to semi-finals at the 2005 Madrid masters? I've sort of lost track of his progress

Match report and quotes from Ginepri and Spadea

http://www.inside-tennis.net/index.p...n=news&id=2511
Robby said in the interview that Spadea's (bad) outfit reminded him of something he wore to a 6th grade dance.

Actually no. He hasn't won a title since Indianapolis in the summer of '05. Robby needs to improve all aspects of his game to get back into the top 30; his vollying in particular was bad today.

He had some chance at the beginning of the second set, didn't use them and then fucked up.
