New organisation of clay court season

In order to avoid any problems related to fatigue of players the tournaments shall be in the following order:

from 16th April - Monte Carlo
from 23th April - Barcelona, Casablanca
from 30th April - Rome
from 7th May - Estoril, Munich
from 14th May - Hamburg

Thus players could have some rest after Rome, all 3 TMS could be maintained and Hamburg draw could be stronger than usually.

Too logical.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Is this official, or is this another one of those boring ideas supplied by a tennis fan?

I good idea, although the Spanish players wouldn't be happy with having to play Monte-Carlo-Barcelona-Rome in 3 successive weeks, Nadal in particular as he is guaranteed to go deep in every event.

As if that would be official Disney bitch? Your hero wouldn't have that much of a thought process to think of that

Re: New organisation of clay court season

There is also another option for players like Nadal to avoid three top tournaments in a row:

from 9th April - Barcelona
from 16th April - Monte Carlo
from 23th April - Valencia, Casablanca
from 30th April - Rome
from 7th May - Estoril, Munich
from 14th May - Hamburg

Re: New organisation of clay court season

How about something like this:

19 March - Vina del Mar, Houston
26 March - Costa do Sauipe, Acapulco
02 April - AMS Buenos Aires
09 April - Davis Cup
16 April - Casablanca, Valencia
23 April - AMS Monte-Carlo
30 April - Barcelona, Munich
07 May - Estoril, Palermo
14 May - AMS Rome
21 May - Poertschach, WTC
28 May - Roland Garros

WTF is this?

Please post clearly if you are posting something official or just being an a-hole.

sounds good. But they should make AMS in Barcelona instead of Monte Carlo/Rome, i think the reason is obvious (hint: it's not just Nadal)

I don't think anyone will want to change Monte-Carlo or Rome. They're two of the most popular tournaments of the year and there's too much tradition.

Re: New organisation of clay court season

I agree, but don't you think Spain deserves a clay AMS event? I mean they always had great players on the surface

The basic idea behind it is good, but the presentation gets on my nerves. All I ask is that people think before they post.

P.S. I like Jimnik's post. Barcelona should not be the only event sandwiched between Monte Carlo and Rome. There should be at least two weeks in between. Otherwise a fine tourney like Barcelona would become virtually deserted.
