Smooth as you like from Andy, only one very minor wobble when he faced bp at 4-3, and quickly snuffed it out.

His game is looking in good shape. With probably Davydenko next, it'll need to be.

Murray def Mahut 6:1 6:3

No surprise here with this result...but a nice win, an effortless win and a good sign for the young 'un.

Things certainly get harder from this point, with Davydenko likely for the next round and then Soderling/Gonzo/Haas waiting beyond...

Time for Pimms...

Nice one Andy!

The Davydenko match should be great, can't wait for it.

I watched the match - yes Andy played well but how on earth did Marat get bageled?

You can only wonder...Mahut clearly played better against Safin - today he was 44% on first serves. But even so I still find it hard to believe

Re: Murray d. Mahut 61 63

Let's not forget Jan Hernych. Still not totally decided.

But it was a comfortable win for Andy - Mahut couldn't hurt him at all, and it was easy pickings for Andy at the back of the court. Serve was looking more robust in the second set particuarly. Davydenko should be a good match if they do infact meet.

My favourites

Andy Murray / Fernando Gonzalez / Mikhail Youzhny / Simone Bolleli / Kei Nishikori / Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Glasgow Rangers - 51 league titles, we welcome the chase!

If not for Gilbert, it would be great to see Murray win the tournament. To do so, he would have to play some pretty interesting matches too

He has a tough tough quarter but he looks sharp and to be honest has looked pretty sharp all year so far!

Re: Murray d. Mahut 61 63

Very easy for Andy. He's not needed to get out of second gear at all so far. Will be very different against Davydenko though. Still, Andy's playing well and has saved a lot of energy so it should be a good match.

I cannot believe Marat got bagelled with Mahut though.

Didn't expect it to be any different to be honest...SF (at least) is for the taking this week. Hope he does it!
