Allegro/Federer def. Ferrer/Robredo 6-4, 7-6 (2)

Come on tournament directors, put him on centre court for his next match if you think the public didn't get their money's worth!

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

I think this score is a good reply how "serious" were Federer's blisters in the match against Canas

stroke <- point <- game <- set <- MATCH -> round -> tournament -> season -> career
My favorite stats
Longest matches

Tie-breaks

Yep

I think if anything his blister and tape issues were mental distractions - and that's entirely his own fault.

^^^ still, he wouldn't want to make things worse and jeopardize his Miami title for a doubles match.

Yes of course because Federer blamed his loss today on foot problems.

Read the whole "Canas def. Federer" thread. Federer didn't but some users did.

So? Some fans are always going to come up with an excuse when their fav looses. Just like in Cincy last year when people were saying Fed lost because he was tired, when he never blamed that loss on fatigue. Maybe some fans refuse to believe he's human, can have an off day, can be beaten.
