Bittersweet result. I'm happy that JMDP is moving on but it's at the cost of Guga.

Re: JMDP def. Kuerten 7-6(5) 6-2

Guga served for the first set, then everything fell down He got broken twice at the start of the second set, then it went on serve until the end...

The problems with Guga are his focus when serving for sets, his first serve % (way too low) and his return (couldn't do a thing on JMPD's serve...) still, good fight!

Guga

Can't say it was unexpected but well done JMDP

It will be interesting to see how he matches up with Gasquet.

yes, I would normally be on Guga´s side.

Did anyone have the chance to watch the match? I mean, are these first round matches broadcasted somewhere?

Congrats JM Looked like a close first set - Guga had a break, and served for it, but seems like he got tired after such a long first set, and JM took the second easily.

Next round is against Gasquet.
It can be interesting. I don´t expect him to win, but I won´t complain if Juan surprises me.

Not everyone is as good as Agassi who could play way beyond age 30.

I am so happy for Juanma. This is a good start for him. He is the youngest on the tour and a late developer physically, so it is hard on him. I am sure he will do his best against Gasquet. But I feel that, no matter what happens, he will be there soon enough.

yes, he is still not in match shape he has blown to many chances to close out sets or has choked when he can get broken for the set, his serve % also seems low, his best servie game was against volandri where he served 70%+ first serves...

In Guga's case he can't play because of his hip. Unfortunately, we don't know how he would be playing if he was completely healthy, but Agassi was a tennis genius.
