Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

2003 vs 2004 RG Champions

Here is the H2H.

This will be the 13th meeting and they're exactly even at 6-6.
With both players struggling, could this possibly be the last meeting?
Who will end up on top?

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

I give it to Fuanqui in three, because I'm secretly hoping for this to be a really good match with a lot of good fight from both players and because Juanqui seems to be in a better state of mind than gato.

I want to have my evil way with Tommy Robredo

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

Who will out-choke the other? Tough question to answer really, because even when they were both really sharp, there was never a clear cut favorite in their matches. I'm gonna go with JC because Gaudio seems even more mentally unbalanced than JC nowadays, but you never know with Juan Carlos. Remember what happened at last year's RG?

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

It used to be Gaudio serving for Match and choking against Ferrero to lose in three sets in the old days, because that happened even when Gaudio was good, and Gaudio is for sure not good nowadays, I see Ferrero winning in 2 sets.

Altough familiarity may make the match competitive, who knows?

I miss: Ivan Lendl, Korda, Novak, Bruguera, Rios, Kucera, Courier, Mantilla, Costa, Santoro and Ferreira.

Good luck to:

Gaudio, Murray, Florian Mayer, Chela, Nalbandian, Radek Stepanek, Volandri, Youzhny and Verdasco.

Hope Gaudio wins in 2, but he is more likely to lose in 2.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

I'm picking in JC in two but I am hoping whoever wins this match will win this tournament. That is not likely going to happen

Good Luck

Stanislas Milos Federico

*Juan Carlos* *David N.*

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

I think right now JCF has the adventage. He seems to be more stable, not by much though. I predict Ferrero in three but I wouldn't bet any money on it, not with these two.

Vamos David and Juan Carlos

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid it will never truely begin.

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

Ferrero 2-0, because he's been kicking ass recently, he's fired up because Buenos Aires screwed him over, he wants his first title in ages BAD!!!

And he finally won a tiebreaker!!!

JUAN CARLOS FERRERO

Juan Monaco, Tommy Robredo, Fernando Gonzalez, Juan Martin Del Potro, David Ferrer, Guillermo Garcia Lopez, Juan Ignatio Chela, Fernando Verdasco, Carlos Moya, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Lucas Arnold Ker, Nicolas Lapentti

Re: Acapulco QF: Ferrero v Gaudio. Who will win?

If I were Gaudio, I'd go into this match and swing...he has nothing to lose. I'd expect Ferrero to win, but no great reason why Gaudio can't win again imo.
