Currently Roddick is in 3rd place with 2,830 points. Last year Nadal's clay court points were 2,300 alone and if he were to repeat plus win Hamburg that would be 2,800 points. As long as Nadal dominates on clay I can't see anyone jumping ahead of him.
And he sucked in last summer's hard-court season....I mean, he isn't really defending that many points. If he were to win one, that would pretty much seal it up, wouldn't it?
Roger isn't going to be losing that strangle-hold on #1 anytime soon anyway, so the point is moot.
