This has already been posted in the Ramirez Hidalgo over Gaudio thread.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Well it's a bit early in the year to make that decision, as the clay season goes into mid-September. But yeah, things aren't looking too hot for him

Yes, he has said this many times before.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Gaudio is a headcase... perhaps this is some pent-up guilt about winning the French Open a few years ago??!! A case of `I`m not worthy`!!!! maybe??

Re: Gaudio is rightly considering quitting

I think many people go through a period where they are unhappy at what they are doing, are unmotivated, etc. It's unfortunate for Gaudio that not only is his career scrutinized by a lot of people, but that his career really really depends on #1 him doing well and #2 being mentally there. A lot of us can coast through our periods of unmotivation, unhappiness, because we know it is temporary and can see the next step in our sights. Unless Gaudio has something special he's looking to do after his tennis career, I can't imagine how difficult it is every day to not only play matches but do all the off-court work and preparation required to be a successful player. It's very sad.

I think that he would do well to take a little time off where he doesn't have to force himself to do this, and see if he misses it. If he doesn't miss it, then he would know it's time to move on, but if he (hopefully) does, then he can rediscover the passion that got him to the top 10, to winning titles, etc.

Are we still bitter about Hewitt getting his arse handed to him in a sling in the RG quarter finals? Yes, I thought so.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Rocky Llegs was in perhaps the best clay form of his life prior to that match, smacked down Malisse in straight sets, wore down Verkerd [who was reighning RG finalist at the time] & then he ran into Gaudio playing inspired/natural clay tennis... ~ I was in shock but actually very happy to see Gaston beat Coria in the final... what a bizarre match that was

Well look at what has happened to both Coria and Gaudio, seems they are always going to be linked for better for worse.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Gaudio shouldn't quit. He still has good tennis to offer and can come back from this, and i'm about as far from a fan of his as it gets
