Having so much game, losing to Simon is quite poor!

Baggy win the final please

Disappointing from Soderling that he didn't go on to at least contest the final.

Re: Gilles Simon d. Robin Söderling 6-2 7-6(2) to reach second ATP final

Simon evidently likes facing power players, he beat Berdych twice last year including a win at the AO, and also took out Verdasco to make the final in Valencia. I suppose he uses the pace they give him and counter-punches with those deceptive strokes he has.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Gilles

I suck at TT so there's no reason to brag with my 1st round exits :retard:

yep, that's what I basically said to gwh and deivid last year about the verdasco's loss when they were talking about a waste of chance to make the final for the spanish. Simon likes powerful flat shots. Being a counterpuncher with flat shots either, that's all about the match-up. Just after his win against Bjorkman he also said that players were now used to his game and know that he hates slice and dropshots which could explain the numerous dropshots the swedish made in the beginning of the match.

Verdasco doesn't hit flat generally.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
