Under Connors, Will Roddick Finally Reach the Final 16 of the French Open This Year?

After the way he conducted himself in the first tie of the Davis Cup on Clay by way of beating a better clay court player such as Berdych do you think that under Connors Roddick will finally have a solid Clay court season and could finally reach the 4th round of the French Open for the first time in his career?

Thanks.

Probably not... he doesn't have the patience to rally.

No, though if he got Ginepri in R1, that would make a good start, some qualifier in R2 and then Malisse in R3, then he is there.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I think he can. I think a lot of people underestimate him and his tennis lately.

Re: Under Connors, Will Roddick Finally Reach the Final 16 of the French Open This Year?

Listen to this shit. With the right draw almost any top player can reach the round of 16 or semis. Look at Ivan and Tim Henman. Well actually I thought Henman played awesome that year and if he didn't have one his classic mental lapses could have taken down even Coria. Roddick could easily make the round 16, or semis...he's good enough. It's just that every year he gets a shitastic draw, well last year he was injured but even if he did win it wouldn't have mattered look at his next couple of opponents. He's not good enough to beat clay specialists but he's good enough to beat many of the top players on any surface any day.

Mutis, Arthurs and Sargsian are crap draws on clay are they?

I tend to say no, 3rd round should be quite realistic.

ya ya ya...ya ya ya...look at his opponents after those guys....my whole argument was that if he had won...it wouldn't have mattered.

Not good enough. If my father was my mother, then he wouldn't have been my father.

He has not had very hard draws at RG and go back to when he beat Chang and was giving Hewitt plenty to think about before he cramped up. If he plays like that, then perhaps, but he hasn't improved on clay from those days.

Yea but, the next couple matches would have been acasuso, massu, peurta, etc in the next couple rounds that's not an easy draw. You are saying he lost easy matches, but an easy draw he has not had.

Yea I mean he has played well on clay before...I just think he could go deep in the tourney but it would all depend on the draw.
