If hadn't had points to defend I doubt he would have attempted to play - clearly he needs time to recover from whatever was afflicting him at the DC tie over the weekend.

As for the tournament... with all the seeds falling like an avalance (or not showing up in the first place) I fear that Marseille will now volunteer to change its format to RR next year.

According to the MTF ranking thread, he will be out of the Top Ten. Pity it was him. I'm glad for Nalbo getting back there (and David has nothing to defend at the ATP Bs As, so anything will be gain for him). Still there were others that should be out before Mario.
