Tomas Berdych def James Blake 6-1 2-6 7-5 7-5 to level tie at 1-1

This started out well for Berdych, then he had a lapse and Blake took his 2 break point chances and won the second.

Match was a bit closer in the last 2 sets and Blake didn't have any break point chances and Berdych had a shocking ratio and Blake double faulted set point down and the Berdman took the 3rd.

Blake saved 2 mps, but only delayed the inevitable.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

As soon as Blake was 2 sets down. I knew he would lose. Blake seems unwilling to even make it to the 5th set these days. I guess he doesn't wanna lose another 5th setter. Congrats to Berdych on a great win.

I think Blake would be a reliable 2nd player on a surface other than clay. On clay, too much has to go right for him and Roddick to really do damage.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

USA must find a first player too outside the US.

but really you can't count on Blake never I would understand if he lost but not in such style - DF on set ball , then blowing 9 Bps chances in fourth set , he played ok , over 70 winners to near 30UE +10 Aces but he just choked when Tomas needed it

But still Tomas also played great match

That was a surprise for me. Predicted a close match but with the opposite opponent winning. Well done berdych for keeping his nerves , Blake doesn't seem so confident lately.

Still ,it's a tough tie for the Czech.

For those who thought Blake was a realistic chance of winning this match.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Eh, no biggie, it's virtually 2-1 US ... Czechs more likley to lose both singles on Sunday than to get their needed sweep.

Andy is reliable he is 21-9 in Davis Cup right now and he at least isn't giving away matches in stupid style.

I know that Mirnyi is not reliable being schooled by T. Johansson
