Re: Equalled record for the 5th time!

not bad this tiebreak
38 points, hey almost as good as most sets!

20-18 must be the magic number; after having it for the sixth time already, it would be funny to see a distribution to see how many tiebreaks ended with 19-17 or 18-16 to check if 20-18 is an over-coincidental occurance compared to these other numbers.

Has there ever been a big server with a tb record as bad as Roddick's?

If Karlovic, Ancic, Krajicek or Ljubicic count... then yes... and Roddick is still WAY in the positives, which the other mentioned guys could not say

Roddick def. Tsonga 6-7(18) 7-6(2) 6-3 6-3 what means, A-Rod is the first player who lost record's tie-break and won the match. Congrats Andy, good match

Yeah for Andy now just keep it down and play tennis please.

Andy's TB record was untouchable in 2003-04. Things got pretty bad in 2005, but levelled off in 2006. Still, as Neely says, compared to other big servers, his TB record isn't too bad.

I think TB's are all about confidence anyway, and not really about serving.

Congrats to Andy Roddick, 2017 Hall of Fame!

Re: Roddick def. Tsonga 6-7 7-6 6-3 6-3: equalled record for the 5th time!

If you will take career Tb record Rodddick is one of the best he had great Tb record in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Only last year was bad but still he was 19-19 in Tbs last year.

It was nice win for Roddick, I think it will be good for him to have stronger opponent and very hard match in 1st round, beacuse he used to cruise through draw when opponent were too easy for him and then loosing macth to someone better in bad fashion.
Roddick won 63% at the net, not a bad stat,
also both players had the same winners/Ue ratio
Tsonga 62-46
Andy 41-26

Nice to see Andy in 2nd round, match wasn't so long 2h 44m but still he would rest in next round Giquel or Jones would be easy and they are still on court locked in 5th set(match over 3h match for sure)

ANDY RODDICK

I can't wait to see the post match interview by Roddick... Tsonga is talented and I hope that he can do big things.

I'd also like to say that, if this guy Tsonga stays healthy, there's no reason he can't break the top 100 this year. I mean 30 outright winners in the first set alone . He was on fire.
