Re: Blake into final..

hmm what's that all about?

Sydney really has been hit badly this year - it's getting worse than WTA Montreal last year. It's not like James needed a w/o to the final.

Melzer Withdraws from Sydney

Not sure of the exact reason, but Jurgen has withdrawn from his semi final against Blake.

Re: Blake into final..

Well at least I won't lose all my vcash...still I was looking forward to another beatdown by blake. Anyway Blake will have more rest and perhaps be more fit for the open.

Re: Blake into final..

Apparently there is a strong rumour going around that the remaining players in the Sydney draw want to make Blake understand how insignificant Sydney is in the grand scheme of things in protest at the fine given to Nikolay Davydenko. An eye witness account states that "Blake and Melzer were ready to walk out on to court, Blake went first, and Melzer could clearly be seen to whisper in his ear 'Sydney doesn't matter', before walking back to the locker rooms citing a "headache" for his withdrawal.

The winner of Moya-Gasquet is set to do likewise and withdraw before the final, allowing Blake to win the coveted Sydney title yet again. It's expected that Moya will be his opponent, as he is more likely to listen to the advice of a seasoned pro.

I am taking the piss of course, but you never know.

Re: Blake into final..

that would be shitty, but hey a title is a title

at least he'll be fresh for the AO where he could get as deep as he's EVER been

Nadal - Blake - Dimitrov - Del Potro - Isner - Fish - Haase

Re: Melzer Withdraws from Sydney

blake once again with a simple solution to a tournament he probably should have lost first round in
kim, healey, korolev, melzer (w/d)
could have been a 10K futures

my favorite was the worst number 3 player in the world
