Federer is up for many awards as is Nadal.
Interesting category is most improved - Carrenos, Rublev, Shapovalov and Zverev. Honestly, I think Zverev has a lock on this.
Federer and Nadal both up for Comeback Player, voted by players - should be interesting to help settle whether players perceive Federer's H2H advantage and level of play at the big events more important than Nadal's full season consistency and ranking points.
IMO most improved player isn’t NID yet, Zverev is the favorite going from #24 to #3 or #4 in the rankings, but both Rublev(156 to 35 in the rankings) and Shapovalov( 252 to 50 in the rankings) are also still in the contention.
Possibly, I think Roger deserves comeback player more since he was actually injured for most of last year while Nadal only missed the last month and 2 months in the middle of the season. Nadal should win player of the year if he takes YE#1,then there would be hardly an argument for Roger in terms of achievements this year, H2H isn’t much of a factor in the criteria of awards like these.
Federer for comeback n Zverev for most improved. Winning back to back masters is record in itself
