Sorry to hear of Nick's injuries. He is a wonderful talent. I believe all of these injuries are due to the advent of power tennis. It is taking too much of a toll on the bodies of these athletes.
NK's injuries are most likely the result of poor conditioning. His super serve oriented game is not extremely demanding. But his body is in horrible shape. He's not fit enough, probably doesn't train enough/right and in general doesn't take care of his body the way an athlete of his caliber should. Hopefully these couple of months away from the tour will make him realize he actually loves what he's doing and will help him to commit to a more professional approach next year.
Good decision. Hopefully he makes a great offseason and come stronger next year, I think most of his physical issues are related to poor preparation. As soon as he stop doing things like eat Pringles while watching NBA at 3 a.m. he should get a lot better in the physical department.
