WWW? Shanghai QF: [1] Nadal vs. [6] Dimitrov

Can Dimitrov take advantage of favorable conditions for once? Or he will fail miserably like in Beijing?

He's certainly the 3rd best player (or 4th, if you believe Zverev is better, but recent matches against Del Potro tell otherwise imho) in the world right now, so he really should't be losing to the 2nd best player in the world twice in a row in favorable conditions.

At least, if he fails like a 12 yo again, this time Federer will likely be in the F to handle Nadal his 4th lesson of the year.

Federer won't past Del Potro, see US Open.

Nadal in 2 sets.

Rafa in 2 sets 6-4 6-3.
Think it will be easier than Beijing.

I think Nadal takes this in straights, first set might be close.

Also, Alex is the 3rd best player of the season.

It'd be foolish to say Grigor is winning this, Rafa has this in the bag! Next!

Once you've experienced Roger Federer, nothing is ever the same again...

Same procedure as every match. Grigor will be too far behind the baseline, too defensive, too much slicing. He won't be taking the ball early which is the proven way to beat Nadal.

Hence he'll lose in straight sets, if he doesn't get lucky and wins one.

"The point is that to root for Federer is to root for a Platonic ideal. It is like rooting for truth. (...) Detractors who said, “Don’t you get tired of him winning all the time?” were missing the point. Every victory was a validation. No one gets bored by the sun coming up in the morning."

Grigor is too friendly to Rafael , surely he already forgot the beatdown from last week, i expect the same story Grigor fighting but falling in the end.

Now if he goes and gets revenge for the multiple loses against Rafael that´s good for him and tennis.

Good luck Grigor.

Pretty easy to prove anyone wrong who says Cilic though.

Mannarino def. Cilic 6-7 6-4 6-0

Says it all.

And that doesn’t include the joke draws he’s had all year including this tournament

Nadal in 2. He's playing even better than he did last week. In fact this is possibly the best he's playing post USO in his career. Can't see an upset happening here.

These tactics have hurt Dimitrov against Nadal in the past but they weren't at fault in Beijing. If anything, Dimitrov was able to take advantage of Nadal's dip in the second precisely because he wasn't playing a passive match. In the end, Nadal was just too good on the day: both wings strong from the baseline, effective passing shots during big moments and good touch at the net were all factors in the third set breadstick even though Dimitrov played pretty well before the double break. It honestly reminded me more of a Federer-Nadal match than the typical Dimitrov-Nadal match.
