St. Petersburg F: Dzumhur def. [3] Fognini 3-6 6-4 6-2

Fabio was poor today. He only played well in the 1st set and wasn't even that good really. As soon as he estabilished himself and dealed better with his nerver, Dzumhur took control of the match.

Fognini still without titles out of clay, 3rd runner up honors in hard courts, all on Russia.

Maiden title for Dzumhur in his 2nd try of the year, congrats.

Second set was terrible. Like 4-50 winners to unforced errors combined and just one from Fabio. Congrats to Dzumhur but please control your on court nerves makes Fabio look like a saint.

I think this makes Dzumhur the first player from Bosnia and Herzegovina to win an ATP singles title
He played very well all week, steady and consistent. A short guy who does the best he can with what he has

I just hope Fabio doesn't carry a serious injury, he was barely moving in the end.
Congrats to Dzumhur for keeping his cool and for his 1st title.

Dodig too, even in the same town in Hercegovina.

Ljubicic was born in town in Bosnia proper.

So, back in Ljubicic' time Bosnia & Hercegovina was probably the place of birth of the most top 100 ATP or even top 50 players per capita because in 2011 they were y.e. no. 21, 30, 36, representing Croatia of course.

Also Australian M. Matosevic no.39 in 2013 and Amer Delic no.93 in 2006.

Congrats to Dzumhur's maiden title win! 1st for the independent country Bosnia & Herzegovina, and proves now his best improvements this season. Saw his potential a bit during a match against Berdych in the Australian Open around 2014 I think and was a bit impressed. I really haven't followed his Juniors career, but great to see his efforts finally have a breakthrough.

Disgusting behaviour from Dzumhur again, even his girlfriend(?) trying to calm him down.

Despite this, congrats on his first title.

Another result I didn't expect, but another first time ATP title winner which makes two in one day.

I confess that I am a Dzumhur fan despite the chip-on-his-shoulder boorishness. His game is simply fantastic: I love his speed, his sneaky approaches, and his superb net play. In an era when it seems like every young player volleys like a local club mug, watching someone with such a masterful net game is a real treat. If I were across the net from him, I'd think he's a total assh*le; but as a fan I'll root for him unless he does something that's just way too over the line.
