Sorry to hear that. He really can't catch a break. Get well soon, Milos!

I hope he takes his time to recover. Makes not much sense just coming back for 2 or 3 tournaments.
You could just end the season and recover everything with much more care.
I am glad he was able to make that decision before the draw. Helps with a balance draw when seeds
do not need to be replaced with Lucky Losers.

That's a pity. But the field is still very strong at this US Open. There's Federer & Nadal - the two best players this year by a large margin. There's Zverev - the hottest up & coming young player - a real deal and a threat for the title. There's Murray - the always dangerous just ex-no1. There's Cilic - Wimbledon runner-up and ex-US Open champion. There's Dimitrov - who reinvented himself with a big career defining win a week ago. You got Thiem - it's only a question of time when he finds his groove on HC. And Del Potro - another ex US Open champion. And there's a bunch of other talented youngsters who may always surprise just like Shapovalov in Montreal.

Who's missing?

Nishikori & Raonic - they were never going to be a force at this US Open - part of generation useless who always crack under pressure and bend over if facing a BIG player.

Stan - I love him, but let's face it - he's nearing the tail end of his career and best years are behind him.

Djokovic - only his tards will miss him and only they will complain and whine about the field. With his current form even without injury he was likely to bomb out in R1-R3 anyway or tank before a possible meeting with Federer or Nadal to avoid a beatdown.

The problem is that the field would only be strong when Djokovic/Wawrinka/Nishikori/Raonic are healthy as well and Murray/Cilic in good form. You're trying to convince us by saying that the players missing weren't in good shape anyways, but that just indicates that the field has been sort of poor for months, especially compared with AO.

In retrospect, how lucky has Federer's Wimbledon win been?

None of Kyrgios, Raonic, or Cilic were healthy / available to play him at full health, two of which have beaten him at majors (one at Wimbledon), while the other has a positive head to head against him.

Cilic even outplayed Federer in the final before the fall/injury.

Was thinking the same thing going through this thread. Poor Milos, even in his injury thread Nadal and Federer manage to highjack his thread:grin2:

This really sucks. But at this point especially if he just had surgery I'd rather he take the rest of 2017 off then try and rush back to play only to reinjure himself. I know it' snot his nature, and he's discussed in previous interview that the hardest part about being injured is not being able to play. I just think he really needs to look at that stance and realize he can probably get a better 2018 if he takes the rest of 2017 off.
