When will people learn

To be fair Dimitrov does stand a fair chance if he plays well but people need to seriously be more patient with him. Time and time again has his results gone down hill after having a spell of good form.

Juan Martin Del Potro - Nick Kyrgios - Roger Federer - Dominic Thiem

Or the SF. As long as Federer wins

I don't want a SF. Although would be more likely to happen there as Nadal surely won't reach the final either way, his form is so bad

Re: US Open 2017 Thread

I will go with Nadal, but wouldnt mind Dimitrov also especially if he beats Zverev in the SF or QF

Re: US Open 2017 Thread

Can't think of a more boring pre-tournament scenario. The only player that can beat Federer is guaranteed to be in the opposite half and won't reach the final most likely.

Re: US Open 2017 Thread

Just read an article saying USO is supposedly to use faster balls this year. If that's true, we can expect good tournaments by Dimitrov, Kyrgios, Isner, Querrey and the likes, while a lot of complains from Nadal.

SOURCE - It's in portuguese, but I'm translating the part about the balls.

Se for verdade que o US Open irá também optar por uma bola mais veloz, Dimitrov só precisará mesmo de um bom sorteio para ter chances de ir longe. O mesmo se pode dizer de Kyrgios.

Translation

If it is true that the US Open will also opt for a faster ball, Dimitrov will only need a good draw to have a chance to go far. The same can be said about Kyrgios.

He just complained about the opposite type of balls so probably not, unless he actually wants to make a fool out of himself.

Re: US Open 2017 Thread

My prediction (somewhat bold too) is A. Zverev will win his maiden major title. I know he is yet to prove himself in BO5 and hasn't been beyond 4th round but his form this summer was so impressive that he has a real shot at this US Open. Especially if Federer is not fully recovered from his back injury.

Federer - Thiem - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Dimitrov - Shapovalov
