Cincinnati SF: Kyrgios def. Ferrer 7-6(3) 7-6(4)

Kyrgios wasn't 100% today but played really intelligent tennis, going for less on first serves when it wasn't working etc. He is looking good for the title.

Ferrer was the best I have seen him in a few years, playing counter punching tennis and not letting Kyrgios off the hook at all (except in the tiebreaks a little bit). This led to some really high quality tennis.

If Nick is fit (big if still), you would think he overpowers Dimitrov but you never know with him. Bodes well for Australia's seemingly diminishing Davis Cup hopes this year as well.

Thank God vulture is gone, but jesus, haven't noticed before how not good Kyrgio's FH is, barely tier 2.

This sets up a NextGen vs. Generation Useless battle for their first masters title. If Kyrgios wins, that means NextGen players would have won THREE consecutive masters titles...if Dimitrov wins, it will be the first masters title for Generation Useless in a VERY long time.

What a fucking disgusting result. I can't believe that people hate Karlovic, Isner, Raonic but love this glorified servebot Kygrios. Ferrer is a much better player than thug in every department except the serve. What a disgusting player this Kygrios is. Even though I don't like Diva, I'll have to support him tomorrow. Hope he takes out the servebot.

Nick wasn't great with his returning or his backhand at times but he served great, especially in the tiebreaks. David could've done better on the half chances he had

Kyrgios showing some nerves, clutch and good enough to beat near peak Ferrer. First masters final for him.

His chances are good for the title and he also earns a good shots at the USO now

Federer - Thiem - Zverev - Del Potro - Kyrgios

Nick's serving in the tie breaks were key. Amazing that nobody could break in either semifinal

Ferrer played really well but he just made some errors during the breakers. Maybe he was a bit nervous wich is natural going into a breaker against a big server. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Good week for Nick, I really want him to take it all now, winning this could mean a lot for his future.

And yet Federer bots his way through some sets and no one bats an eyelid cause he's 'allowed'

re: Cincinnati SF: Kyrgios def. Ferrer 7-6(3) 7-6(4)

All-tiebreak semifinals, when has that ever happened?

Nick had a fair share of BP opportunities, but went for too much returning second serves. Still, he was able to get out of trouble repeatedly not only with great serving, but also clutch rallying, particularly when he saved two BPs with drop shots. In the end, he served well in TBs, Ferrer didn't, and that was it.

Looking good for the title, indeed. More impressive than Dimidroll so far, may that continue. Hoping for Nickybot to edge Greegor in close two (another 7-6 7-6? lol).
