Just like everyone had in their draws at the start of the week

Ferrer returns serve better than Nadal and when he's keeping the ball deep like v Thiem it's a horrible match-up for NK.

Would love NK to get through, but I worry he might lose out. Ferrer has a history of knocking over players who beat Nadal previously in these events.

David Ferrer is playing pretty well again these days and I think an in-form Vulture can really cause problems to Kyrgios games due to his return game (much better than Nadal) and his ability to counter-punch Kyrgios groundstrokes. Similar to how Murray operates in the matchup.

Should both of them keep their current levels, we're in for a real treat.

Hopefully Nick in 2, I'm looking forward to watching him lift the trophy.

Ferrer is a great returner, much better than Nadal so if he keeps his current form, he should win.

Funnily enough, one guy in the Chinese draw challenge actually picked Kyrgios to beat Nadal and Ferrer to beat Thiem in the quarterfinals before the start of the week, he also picked Kyrgios to win the title.

This match could be pretty interesting, both looked really good today and the clash of personalities and game styles could be very fun. Hoping for a thriller in this relatively dull tournament.

Please, please, please, PLEASE beat Ferrer. I respect the energizer bunny, but it just feels something off if Ferrer would STILL be the one who would grab the opportunity without the Bigs. Time for more U-Cilic to step up and surely Kyrgios (and Dimitrov) should capitalize on it. He has to be very careful if Ferrer's intensity goes up as I think it intimidated Domi a bit during their match. Has to fight whatever return, because Ferrer as of now seemingly is willing to grind it out. That being said I feel Kyrgios is underrated on his BH side, so I think he could manage that still. Wonder though how much energy Ferrer is left, I mean he is still 35 years old. If it could be a 3-Setter IMO I feel it is Kyrgios' to lose.

I can live with Ferrer-NK-Dimitrov-Isner lineup, given the absences. Could be worse. At least it's not Mannarino-ARV-Donaldson-Sugita.

With NK all bets are off. In-form Ferrer can definitely bother NK and make him implode spectacularly. NK, OTOH, can definitely overpower 35 y.o. Ferrer. If he decides he's interested. Or healthy. Or both. Oh who TF knows what else... Friendly advice @ gamblers - keep your money in your pockets.
