Do you know the circumstances? Maybe he had a serious injury.

Doesn't look like great sportsmanship.

Federer - Thiem - Wawrinka - Del Potro - Dimitrov - Shapovalov

I have to say I am still impressed how people here search for these Futures matches -- with over 10+ per week, some of their scorelines seems hard to get (unless of course these scores could be see WITH the Masters 1000 in a site, and I guess it is actually quite easy... ).

EDIT: Seems Chazal is ranked 360 in the world...this is actually pretty high, so it really looks quite bad for someone of his caliber in a Futures.

The good kind of corruption, when you bet on yourself to win.

Diep's not a bad player so it's not surprising that he was competitive with Chazal.

I "hope" this was a real injury, because otherwise Chazal's a really bad sport. Being ridiculously good-looking doesn't excuse such behavior either

Re: ITF Futures Romania F10: Florent Diep def. [1]Maxime Chazal 7-6(8) 6-6(6-0) ret.

I remember some years ago, Bogomolov retired on MP against Clement at the French Open because he was cramping.

I saw it live, and was mad because I felt it wasn't good sportmanship (moreover, Bogomolov was a champion of this kind of retirement).

But Arnaud took his defense and said that playing a MP in the state of Bogomolov had no sense, and he didn't think that he was disrepectful.

It was a weird ending of a great battle between those two, but at the end, I thought that maybe Clement was right, and from this point I give th benefit of the doubt to the player who had to retire.

The worst case of this kind I have in memories is Janko Tipsarevic against Seppi in Eastbourne final. He retired at 5-3 30-0 on Seppi's serve in the last set. It was Seppi's first title !

I don't care if you snap your leg. At that point, you complete the match. Only legit excuse would be fainting, Heart-attack etc.

I assume you're exaggerating just a wee bit. If Bethanie Mattek-Sands had snapped her patella tendon to set up a match point, I would not expect her to crawl over to go through the motions of the last point.

Based on what source was it 6-0 in the tb and not 5-0?

Not exaggerating at all. Hope over to the baseline; Have some honor and finish the match if your 1-2 points away from it ending.

They say it was 5-0 on the ITF website, but either way, the guy probably bet on himself.
